Just thought I'd let you in on the funding status.
Dan and I had a phone call with the principal guy in California today. He explained a couple of things and let us know about some things we didn't know about.
1st, apparently they investors brought in a guy with 20 years of disaster recover and IT experience to validate the idea. It sounded like he built a team of five people to look into it. They gave it a thumbs up. As a result, the investors are really trying to make this happen.
2nd, the government has recently imposed a set of regulations severly limiting the import of funds into the US from South America. For you geography majors, Belize is in South America. The investors have historically brought the money from Europe through Belize into America. They have to find a new route in now. Apparrently there are legal and tax implications that restrict the bank in Holland from sending the money directly to the US. They are working with legal counsel to find a way, or a place, that they can send the money to and take advantage of their tax breaks and also get the money into the States.
3rd, the money is already there, it's just a matter of getting it to us. Apparently all of the approvals and supporting doc is done, it's just the stuff in the paragraph above that is holding things up. He seems very excited about what we're doing and made it sound like people all over the world are working hard to get this deal done.
The guys we've been working are in California and have partners in Holland. The Holland partners were should know by our time tomorrow morning the route they can take. We're supposed to hear tomorrow morning more complete status.
