I didn't do much with Dennis - here is my impression of him: quite
knowledgeable, but at times I felt he was a bit condescending ("know it all"
type of statements). If he could work with the group and not dominate
things, he seemed very Linux capable. (Perhaps since he was a consultant
type he tried to present himself in that fashion - I don't know).

Serena was OK, but she was working so few hours (going to Paris and all)
that I didn't get a good feel for how she would be working full time.

I agree with you on the areas we are weak in - but it will be fun to learn
those areas too. Filling that GUI position could give as a leg up in the
learning curve.

Great news on the money.

Kevin

Just wanted you know what's going on.

We got an email from our investor yesterday that said they are just
waiting to get their loan papers. Once they get them, they'll sign them,
then they'll get the money, then we'll get the money. They're hoping to sign
them next week. I guess we'll just have to wait a little longer.

I've got 57 resumes so far. I've sorted them into three bins, call back,
don't know, and fuhget about it. The call back bin has 25 in it. I'm reading
through them now. One of the emails I got was from Dennis Haugh. He didn't
know who we were until I replied to him. Dennis was the guy in Colorado
Springs that Tricord hired. He got laid off when you did. He'd like to work
with you guys again. Serina also contacted me and wanted to know what I was
up to. I told her and she said she'd like to work with us again.

So that leads me to a question. If we hire Dennis and if we hire Serina
and if we hire Jim (who I haven't spoken to), that leaves me with one spot
to be filled. I'm curious what area you guys think we are weakest in. My
thought is GUI and database (assuming we use a database for stats, and
policies). I also have a resume from a guy that wants to do software test. I
was planning on bringing testers on board a little later, but there can be
great value having them early.

I'd like your opinions on Dennis, Serina, and the other. I'm assuming we
want Jim if we can get him.

Jay, you had a frined that you said we should get. Any status on him?

We have started a letter of intent on a space in the CTC. The address is
385 Pierce if you feel like going by to look at it. I attached a floorplan
so you could see what the space looks like. They offered up free office
furniture and other stuff.

Let me know about the people.

  Perry
