X-Mailer: Mutt 1.2.5i (Damn reply-to.. sorry, Matt!) - Words by Matt Frazier <mfrazier, cryptofreak dot org> [010308 19:26]: > do we actually have for this? (Not that there's a prize of anything, but > I'm curious if we'll be able to check our guesses). Well, I'm not sure - I got the impression that he would reveal the answer sometime next week. Of course, we don't have to actually learn of the answer for as long as we want, too. It CAN'T POSSIBLY BE THAT HARD though, dammit. <grin> > More data: I transcribed the first line from the document in the following > manner It's good that you're thinking about different representations, actually, because mine *could* be a bad binary representation. Not because of typos (I'm pretty sure it's clean of those), but because PM might work differently. See here: Instead of a phase change indicating a high signal, I suspect it might indicate a signal change. So the first 8 bits would be 10100010 or 01011101, depending on how you start. Isn't that nice to know? Two of those references I sited earlier seem to give conflicting answers as to how PM actually works in this respect. Though actually, we have perfect granularity with my rep. too, as long as we know the first one is positive. (1 means phase change, so a second '1' means '34' in your language. But now I'm just nit-picking, aren't I? <grin>) -- Jay Miller ICQ: 32123421 | YM: ladenedge | http://www.cryptofreak.org PGP: 0xedc9bb8d | 41a6428c 46abd36b 6b259b68 8a28ca4c edc9bb8c -- This is the mod-chal mailing list.
