I finished reading the three sample white papers. I now agree with Perry's original lovely ascii art. All the sample white papers are of the form: statement of the problem (including a bit about how storage needs are growing a lot), a little history, advantages and disadvantages of historical approaches (maybe), and then how our product solves the problem. In other words, a thinly veiled marketing document, not an architecture document. So... I don't think I'm the one to write the thinly veiled marketing white paper. I think Perry could do a much better job. In addition, there are actual architecture docs for ADML (in its current name) and ARVM (ditto). The paper Jay gave me goes a long way toward ADML arch - although we've made some changes since he wrote it. We also need a more complete ARVM arch doc. I will work on the arch docs (and Kevin said he'll help me). Jay, can you send me an electronic copy of your paper? Kevin - I forgot that I have an appointment after lunch on Monday. I'm also going to be northish for lunch on Tuesday - will it work out if we meet then instead? June -- This is the antera mailing list.
